While the 6000-square-foot concert space is a bit much for private events, the entire restaurant/bar area can be reserved for a baby shower. There is enough seating for 75 guests at this venue which should be more than enough to accommodate everyone you’d like to invite to your shower. Their rooftop patio also has a seating capacity of 75 guests.

Chop Shop has one of the most interesting histories of any venue in Chicago. This 100-year-old building lived a previous life in an auto repair shop. 8. Formento’s
Formento’s is an authentic Italian restaurant with numerous event spaces available for private events. A semi-private dining space on the first floor, two private rooms on the second floor, a loft space, and an outdoor patio ensure that baby shower guest lists ranging in size from 10 guests to 200 can all be housed in a perfectly compatible space.

7. Tack Room

This venue can accommodate 75 guests at absolute max capacity, but if you’d like your guests to be able to sit down, you should limit the number to 45. You will have access to the indoor space and an outdoor patio when you book this venue.

The Tack Room space dates all the way back to the late 1800s. It was built as a carriage house and horse stable and now serves as a cocktail bar. It is the newest addition to the Thalia Hall property and is a great place to relax and enjoy live music.

6. The Cottage at Blue Door Kitchen and Garden
There are two options for hosting a private event at Blue Door Kitchen and Garden. A full buyout is accepted with a guest list between 95 and 115, but for most baby showers, their private event space, The Cottage, will be the right fit. It can accommodate as many as 50 seated guests.

5. The Long Hall
The Long Hall is a small boutique wedding and special event venue. Three sections in this 2000 square foot venue are separated by half walls to help improve the flow of events, and in total, this space can accommodate 50 seated guests. There is also an outdoor courtyard that can be used to add extra space for any event.

The Long Hall event space has been serving Chicago’s citizens for years. The staff members are highly experienced in event planning and decorating and look forward to customizing their space for your baby shower.

4. Woodwind
Woodwind is a 12,000 square foot event space located on the 18th floor of the Lavin Family Pavilion. Their Birch Rooftop Garden is a gorgeous outdoor space with a capacity 70 guests, and their smallest indoor space, The Annex, also has a capacity of 70 guests. If you are having a more extravagant baby shower, they have additional rooms with seating capacities up to 250 or 350. The spaces can also be combined as you see fit.

Glessner House is home to four unique event spaces that are each perfect for a small party like a baby shower. The Conservatory seats 20-40, The Dining Room seats 18, The Coach House can accommodate 70-125, and The Courtyard has space for 150-200 guests. Glessner House is a historic landmark that has been standing since 1887. It was the hallmark of the time as it branched away from traditional Victorian architecture and redefined what domestic housing could look like. Catering for events held at Glessner House must come from one of their three preferred caterers. Amazing Edibles, Hearty Boys, and May Street Catering are your options. The beautifully enclosed courtyard is home to a dance floor and has the option of being tented to host an outdoor event in any weather. 2. Celeste
Celeste is an incredibly unique venue in Chicago. They own three floors of a historic Louis Sullivan building. Their Rooftop Garden sits on the fourth floor of the building and is a gorgeous space with a capacity of 48-90 guests depending on your layout. Their second floor Deco Room and first floor space The Pub seat 40-75 and 70-125 guests respectively.

Before its conversion into a bar, restaurant, and event space, the building that houses Celeste was a glass factory. Much of its originally architecture is still standing today, and you’ll find many décor items throughout the multi-level building that pay homage to its first life as a manufacturing facility.

1. Assemblea
Assemblea is a 4500 square foot event space located in West Town. An open floor plan on the first floor provides enough space for 100 guests and the opportunity to design an event flow that works for you as an individual. The second floor mezzanine is also included with your booking, and there is even a patio that can extend the celebration into the outdoor air.

The Assemblea building was constructed in the 19th century. It began as a church in 1893 and then evolved to function as a warehouse for a number of companies before being converted into an event space by its current owners. While it has been renovated and upgraded in a number of ways, you’ll find many elements reminiscent of that time period. It is the ideal blend of history and modernity.

Assemblea does not provide any on-site catering for events, so you will need to work with an outside vendor to have your food and drink needs taken care of. There is a prep kitchen on site for your caterer to make use of, and you don’t have to work off of a preferred vendors list with this venue.

Assemblea is designed for events of all kinds: sound systems and video projectors, and on-site prep kitchen, lounge furniture, and an open floor plan create an amazing space for every party. Some of its most dazzling elements include 24-foot ceilings, an indoor balcony overlooking the first floor space, and vibrant garden accompanying their outdoor patio.
